2005 YMCA Grand Gala Charity Ball

On the evening of September 16, 2005, close to 200 supporters of the YMCA/FCSC were treated to an extraordinary evening at the British Ambassador's Residence in Ichibancho. 

British Ambassador, H.E. Graham Fry and his wife Mrs. Toyoko Fry, graciously opened their lovely home to the YMCA/FCSC in support of the Challenged Children Project (CCP). Thanks to their generosity and those of our many guests, the event raised JPY 4.3mil in support of the CCP.

The gala evening included a champagne cocktail reception provided with the assistance of Emmanuel Pratt of Hennessy Louis Vuitton Japan, wine donated by the Australian Ambassador H.E. Murray McLean & Thierry Cohen of the Japan Europe Trading Co., and organic beer from Jack Bayles of Alishan PTY/Tengu Natural Foods.

After the absolutely delicious dinner that was generously provided by H.E. Ambassador Fry, guests were treated to music and dancing followed by the Grand Raffle Draw featuring fantastic prizes such as: Roundtrip Business-ｃlass tickets for two to Hong Kong provided by Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd, Roundtrip Upper Class for two to London provided by Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd, and Silver Rain Cachette-Christophe Limited Edition Perfume provided by La Prairie Japan KK, just to name a few.

Our special guests for the evening included Mr. & Mrs. Miyahara and their children, Kazuyo & Masahito both confined to wheelchairs due to Muscular Dystrophy. Both Kazauyo and Masahito are CCP beneficiaries and participate regularly in CCP Programs at the Chiba YMCA.

This event is only made possible by the generous assistance of our supporters: H.E. Thanks to all of them, thousands of Challenged Children across Japan live a better life.
